Nine persons in Ghana have died through coronavirus, taking the death toll to 248, reports the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

In its Tuesday, August 18, 2020 update, the GHS said 340 new cases have taken the national case tally to 42, 993.

The active cases now stand at 1,949, leaving the recovered toll at 40, 796. Three patients are currently on ventilators while six remain critical with 16 others in a severe situation.
