I'm not threatening you but watch how you gag NDC MPs during vetting- Nuru Hamidan cautions Joe Wise 49
The Chairperson of the Parliament’s Appointment Committee, Hon. Joseph Osei Owusu has been accused of gagging minority Members of Parliament (MP) on the Committee from asking the President’s nominees for various ministerial position legitimate questions.

“What irritates me is the behavior of the Chairman of the Appointments Committee, so autocratic…the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Appointment Committee should be careful because he is writing his own testimony”, a leading member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region, Alhaji Nurudeen Hamidan warned

“This is not a threat. It is just alerting him to be careful because what he is writing will go down as history”, the NDC stalwart spoke on Kumasi-based Akoma FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

According to former Deputy CEO of National Youth Employment, the Bekwai lawmaker popularly known as Joe Wise as Chairperson of the Committee is doing all within his powers to shield President Akufo-Addo’s nominees currently facing the appointment committee to answer several questions for their approval.

“He is not allowing the NDC people to ask questions if he thinks it will make the government unpopular. Why do you prevent MPs from asking questions”, Hon. Nurudeen Hamidan quizzed host, Kofi Asante Ennin during panel discussion.

Parliament is currently vetting nominees for the various ministerial positions in the country following an announcement by the presidency.
