When it comes our Ghanaian culture, women with short hair especially the married ones are often criticized because some believe it makes the woman seem like an easy target.
While this could be true in some cultures, it doesn’t generally speak for all. There are several reasons that will persuade a woman to have a short hair. One of such reasons could be health issues, difficulty in growing longer hair and most importantly the time and money involved in taking care of longer hairs.
Even the likes of Shatta Michy has stopped buying wigs which costs around 3000 cedis just because she has realised it’s quite expensive.
In a post by radio and TV personality MzGee who is well known for rocking a short hair, she was highly criticized by a female counselor for deciding to cut her hair.
According to MzGee, this counselor went as far as telling her that she wasn’t a marriage material for keeping her hair short.
In a funny plot twist, the same counselor whose name she has decided to not mention, is now rocking a short hair and MzGee is awe of what could have inspired her to change her mind.
She went ahead to advise young ladies to do what makes them happy and stop following what other people tell them.
