Former Ghana International soccer star, Kevin-Prince Boateng, has pledged that he will extend a hand of support to families of Offinso accident victims.Recall 19 September 2020, some six young footballers have died in an accident that occurred at Offinso in the Ashanti Region, Saturday.Sources say the children, aged between 12 and 15 were returning from Afrancho to Offinso after undergoing colts division registration when the accident occurred.

Kevin Prince Boateng in a new video-call interview has said he heard about the sad ordeal after sighting the news on social media and later confirmed from a friend.

He said he was touched and would love to support the little way he can.

“I heard about it, and it really made me sad. I first saw it on Social Media, and I called a friend to find out if it was true”, he said on Joy News.

“He told me about it, and I felt really sad because I have kids of my own. One is 12, and one is 6. So, it is a big tragedy, and it hits me hard”, he added.

Four of the dead young footballers have been buried, and the other three will also be given a mass burial.

“Anything that is necessary, I want to help. I want to get in touch with the families. I want to give them the necessary support to feel free. I know it’s hard, and I know how hard it is for parents to bury their children.”
