FrimpongTwenty staff including nurses of Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in the Western Region have tested positive for Covid-19.
Deputy Director of Health Service, Dr Atsu Dordor told Emmanuel Ohene Gyan of EIB Network’s Empire FM that a meeting between officials of the Ghana Health Service and the hospital’s management which is underway is to find answers to the situation at the health facility.
It is also to reassure the staff of the hospital of the readiness of Ghana health service to provide all the necessary support needed at this stage in fighting the novel coronavirus.
News of the staff contracting the virus has caused fear and anxiety among the nurses and other health professionals working at the facility.
The Western Region has now recorded 170 cases based on the daily report of the Ghana health service. An additional 21 new cases have been recorded at the time of this report.
