Berla Mundi in an Instagram post shared a video of her interview with a rape victim where she narrated her sad ordeal but with some of Berla’s response, many felt they were not addressing the topic with all the seriousness it needed.
She captioned “Mawusi was raped by a police man at age 16. Her parents agreed to settle the matter out of court by accepting an amount between ghc800 and ghc1000 from the rapist. She never received medical attention even though she was visibly wounded from the act” We apologize for the crowd’s reaction. We called them to order during the taping of the episode. 🙏🏽
Berla Mundi after posting the interview received some backlash from section of gananians.
Ghanaian actress yvonne okoro was not pleased with the interview and replied “ok what is funny,so we can all laugh..this isnt funny yet😡”
Musician, Stephanie Benson also took to her twitter page to fire at the TV Presenter outlining the fact that her interview with the rape victim was poor.
“A Girl talking about a violent Rape like a comedy show. An Emotionless Presenter Responding to Rape Victim like they re talking about a Bad Film. If that wasn’t bad enough a fucking laughing Audience. What the Hell is wrong with society. God Forgive Us.“, she said.

Efia Odo also blasted Berla Mundi for not controlling the audience adding that Africans don’t take rape seriously.
The host of the show couldn’t take a few seconds to speak to the audience and tell them that this is no laughing matter ? Goes to show how we Africans don’t take rape serious

Someone who insisted on making a whole interview with me on live television about me being against another woman, instead of exposing the guilt of a man in question, when I was only there to promote my EP. I’m sure she was even tempted to ask what the girl was wearing. 🤦🏽♀️
