COVID-19: Church refunds 3 years Tithe to assist members

Tithe paying members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints have been asked to contact their Bishops for a refund of tithes paid to the church since May 2017.

The order communicated to the church in a release dated May 3, 2020, is part of the church’s tithe refund program which aim at supporting members of the church who are going diverse problems during the COVID-19 period.

The statement sighted by adwoaadubianews reads “We are pleased to announce a General Tithing Refund Program to serve as a help in these difficult times. The church will refund up to three years of tithing payments directly to members who have contributed in the past

“Eligible recipients include all active and less active, as well as all former members who paid tithing on or after May 1, 2017. Members should contact their bishop or branch president to request a refund.
