A 60-year-old farmer identified as Lawrence Obuobi was nearly killed by some unknown attackers at 44 a suburb community in the Suhum Municipality in the Eastern Region as he suffered deep wounds after he was butchered.
According to reports, the attackers made away with the little money in his pocket.
A taxi driver who appeared at the scene rushed the victim to the Suhum Government Hospital for immediate treatment.
When the police interrogated the victim as to whether he has issues with anyone who might try to harm him, the farmer said; “I don’t have a problem with anyone. I was going to farm a few minutes to 6:00 am last Sunday then suddenly I was attacked and fell. They took away my mobile phone, my shirt, money. I was bleeding but suddenly a taxi appeared which I stopped and rushed me to the hospital. I can’t tell those who did that but on my way, I saw some two young guys who were jogging I don’t know if they did that.”
Kwesi Gyasi Ayisi who happens to be a friend of Lawrence alleged that the victim was discharged prematurely from the hospital given the reason that he was unstable.
The Suhum Police Command has commenced investigations on the matter to bring these attackers to book.
