Ghana to Host Global Public Relations Conference and IPRA Golden World Awards 2025

President John Mahama to deliver keynote at Ghana PR Conference 2025 and IPRA Golden World Awards

Ghana will proudly host the three-day Public Relations Conference and IPRA Golden World Awards Gala 2025 under the auspices of President John Dramani Mahama, himself a Fellow of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana, and the Africa Public Relations Association (APRA).

Organised by IPR Ghana in partnership with the African Public Relations Association (APRA) and the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), the landmark event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 1 to Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Theme: “Global Realities and Innovative Communication”

The conference will explore how strategic communication is evolving in response to global shifts, with a strong emphasis on:

  • Communicating Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Africa’s development

  • Employing effective communication in tackling Galamsey (illegal mining)

  • Addressing environmental sustainability and climate action

Through expert-led discussions, case studies, exhibitions, and cultural heritage tours, participants will gain practical tools to navigate Africa’s rapidly changing communication and technology landscape.

High-Profile Speakers and Leaders

President John Dramani Mahama will deliver the keynote address as Special Guest of Honour. He will be joined by top Ghanaian leaders, including:

  • Samuel Nartey George, Minister for Communications, Digital Technologies and Innovation

  • Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister for Government Communication

  • Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Minister for Lands and Natural Resources

Ministers of Communication from other African nations will also participate, fostering continental dialogue on AI, innovation, and climate-responsive communication.

Other distinguished speakers include:

  • Jan Eissfeldt, Director and Global Head of Trust and Safety, Wikimedia Foundation

  • Emmanuel Lubanzadio, Africa Lead, OpenAI

Special remarks will be delivered by:

  • Ms. Esther A. N. Cobbah, President, IPR Ghana, and CEO, Stratcomm Africa

  • Mr. Arik Karani, President, APRA

  • Ms. Nataša Pavlović Bujas, President, IPRA

Culmination: IPRA Golden World Awards Gala

The event will conclude with the IPRA Golden World Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 7:15 p.m., hosted at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra.

This prestigious awards ceremony, taking place in Ghana for the first time, celebrates the world’s most outstanding PR campaigns and also marks the 70th anniversary of IPRA.
