Suame Magazine Zone 18 Chairman of artisans, Musah Malik ( Wustars) is calling on the government and the trade ministry to include apprentices in the Free SHS policy.
He wants the government to include them by providing every apprentice with materials they need to work with.
He also wants the government to feed them once a day as done for students in the day schools who are captured under the free SHS model.
Wustars notes, learning a trade is also a part of education so apprentices need to be handled equally as mainstream students.
Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said artisans are a core part of the economy and their roles can not get ignored.
He believes such persons can help turn the economic fortunes of Ghana around if they get the needed help required.
He lamented the inability of degree and other certificate holders to find jobs after graduation adding, people who learn a trade or attend vocational and technical schools have greater chances of establishing their own businesses.
Such persons he stressed must be supported to help Ghana reduce the water of unemployment.
