Antoine Semenyo signs new deal as Iraola backs him to lead Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has expressed strong confidence in Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo, highlighting the striker’s maturity and growing influence ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.

Semenyo, who has committed his long-term future to the Cherries until June 2030, is set to play a central role in Iraola’s plans despite reported interest from other Premier League clubs.

The 24-year-old was a standout performer last season, netting 13 goals and delivering five assists in 42 appearances across all competitions, earning him praise for both his attacking contributions and his work rate off the ball.

Speaking during pre-season preparations, Iraola commended Semenyo’s consistent improvement since joining the club, saying:
“Antoine is someone who has been progressing a lot, year to year. From lower divisions to the Premier League, every season he’s improved. He’s playing more, having better stats, and becoming more important for the team.”

The Spanish coach noted that,t beyond his stats, Semenyo brings valuable experience to the squad:
“I hope he can continue this progression and give us some leadership. Last season, he was so important for us, not just for his numbers but also for the work he does for the team.”

Semenyo has featured in Bournemouth’s pre-season fixtures, showing glimpses of the sharp form that made him one of the club’s most reliable attackers last season.

His renewed contract reflects the club’s belief in his potential to become a long-term leader on and off the pitch.
