Assin Central Member of Parliament(MP), Kennedy Agyapong has revealed that his colleagues Mfantseman Lawmaker was killed on Friday by hired assassins.
He claims Ekow Quansah Hayford was killed by people who had been contracted and not armed robbers like it has been reported.
According to him, information available to him from his team’s preliminary investigations suggests that the Member of Parliament was killed by persons paid to do a job.
The Assin Central Lawmaker who made this known when he visited the family of the late Member of Parliament said an individual who is posing as an eye witness and providing information to the media should shut up or the police will be forced to arrest him.
He said the supposed eye witness’ account of events do not add up.
The business man disclosed that prior to the death of the MP, Elvis Morris Donkoh who is the current MP for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese constituency had received a call from some unknown person warning him about threats on his life.
He said Mr Donkor was asked by the unknown person to also alert the slain Mfantseman MP and the MP for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam Constituency because their lives were also in danger.
The Assin South Member of Parliament told the family to be calm because he is rest assured that there will be an arrest soon.
