Young man beaten by mob in Pokuase after being caught stealing livestock.

A young man believed to be behind a series of livestock thefts in Ablekuma Olebu was caught in Pokuase and severely beaten by an angry crowd.

The livestock thief caught in Pokuase had reportedly been stealing animals such as fowls and goats in the Olebu area and transporting them to Pokuase to sell. His actions had caused frustration among residents, with many having lost livestock in recent weeks.

On this occasion, he was allegedly caught red-handed while attempting to sell a stolen animal. Residents who recognized him quickly mobilized and subjected him to severe beatings in broad daylight. Video footage from the scene shows the man being assaulted by multiple individuals using sticks, belts, and other objects.

The situation turned violent as the crowd, enraged by his repeated actions, refused to listen to any plea and continued the assault. Bystanders looked on as the mob administered what they described as punishment for his crimes.

The man’s condition remains unknown, and it is unclear whether law enforcement has intervened. The incident has sparked renewed concerns about the rise in livestock theft in the area and the dangers of mob justice.
