Fourteen suspected drug users have been arrested by the Nkawkaw Police Command during a swoop operation carried out alongside a demolition exercise in parts of the municipality.
According to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwahu West, Hon. Tamimu Halidu, the suspects are currently in police custody and will be screened before being arraigned.
The operation, which forms part of an ongoing security clampdown, follows a wave of gang-related violence in the area that recently led to the death of a popular local musician.
Authorities say the move aims to restore calm and prevent further criminal activity in Nkawkaw, emphasizing that such joint actions between the police and the assembly will continue to ensure public safety.
