An outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegate has criticised the current government, claiming she has not seen any meaningful impact since they assumed office. According to her, the administration has failed to deliver the improvements he expected, and she believes the situation has worsened at the local level.

The delegate drew a sharp comparison between former Fisheries Minister Hawa Koomson and parliamentary candidate Naa Koryoo, highlighting accessibility as a major difference in leadership style. She argued that Hawa Koomson maintained a close relationship with the grassroots, making herself available to party supporters at all times.

She claimed that during Hawa Koomson’s tenure, he could freely visit her home and feel welcomed. “With Hawa Koomson, I could go to her house with a plate and eat,” she said, emphasising her openness and warmth.

However, she described Naa Koryoo as distant and unapproachable, insisting that party supporters no longer feel the same level of connection. “Unlike Naa Koryoo, where you can’t even go to her house,” she lamented.

The delegate’s comments reflect growing frustration among some party members who believe the government and certain party leaders have lost touch with their base. For many grassroots delegates, accessibility and personal engagement remain key expectations from their representatives.

Her remarks add to the broader conversation within the party regarding leadership, visibility, and the changing dynamics between political officeholders and their supporters ahead of future elections.
