Tragedy struck Kumasi-Breman on Saturday when a runaway truck reportedly broke loose and crashed into a shop and a nearby restaurant, killing a young woman instantly. The shocking incident has left the community in mourning.
Eyewitnesses say the parked truck suddenly rolled out of position and ploughed through the area, causing panic. The deceased, identified as an apprentice at a beauty salon, was off duty at the time but had been called in by her supervisor to temporarily manage the shop.
Tragically, shortly after she arrived, the uncontrolled vehicle slammed into the shop, fatally striking her before crashing into a nearby restaurant.
Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident and whether negligence played a role. Residents are calling for stricter enforcement of safety regulations, particularly regarding the parking and maintenance of heavy-duty vehicles in the area.
