Twitter on fire after Joe Biden trips and falls while boarding a plane

Joe Biden on Friday managed to bring social media alive with memes after the US President lost his footing and tripped multiple times while climbing up the stairs of Air Force One.

The American leader was boarding the Presidential jet and took the steps when he tripped mid-way which proceeded with a couple of more stumbles before he recovered and got back on his feet.

Holding on to the railing with his right hand, Biden attempted a quick recovery but tripped again, this time dropping to his knee.

He stood up, paused and brushed his left pant leg before he headed up to the top of the airstairs, turned and saluted, and then entered the aircraft.

The incident was caught on cameras, a video of which soon circulated widely on social media including microblogging site Twitter.

As is the case with everything else, Biden’s fall did not escape the meme-radar. Several photoshop experts and memes took it upon themselves to put the US President in unusually hilarious scenarios.

Air Force One took off shortly afterwards from outside the capital Washington for a flight to Atlanta, where Biden was to meet members of the Asian-American community which has been shocked by a series of shootings in massage parlors.

“He is doing fine. He is doing just great,” deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters about Biden’s stumble. Biden, the oldest president ever to take office, made a point of hustling to his appearances while on the campaign trail.
