Senior officials from the UK and Ghanaian governments gathered at the British High Commissioner’s Residence in Accra for the bi-annual UK-Ghana Partnership for Jobs and Economic Transformation (JET) Steering Committee Meeting, aimed at deepening trade relations and scaling investment in key sectors.
The high-level session was co-chaired by Sampson Ahi, Ghana’s Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness & Industry (MoTAI), and Richard Sandall, Development Director at the British High Commission. Stakeholders present included representatives from MoTAI, the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat, British International Investment (BII), and the British High Commission.

The meeting reviewed progress under the UK’s flagship JET Programme, which has so far supported over 7,000 job creations and unlocked more than £124 million in investment across Ghana’s manufacturing and agro-processing sectors.
In a major highlight, the session concluded with the signing of a new partnership agreement between the UK Government and Ghana’s Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness & Industry, focused on accelerating policy support for Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy agenda.

“This agreement builds on the JET Programme’s role as a trusted technical and investment partner, supporting policy reforms, attracting private capital, and linking local firms with finance, including the UK’s development finance institutions,” said Richard Sandall, Development Director at the British High Commission.
Deputy Minister Sampson Ahi added, “We welcome the UK’s continued support as we work to transform Ghana into a competitive manufacturing hub in West Africa.”

The 2025 Steering Committee Meeting also showcased recent UK-backed investments facilitated through JET and BII, reinforcing the UK’s position as a key ally in Ghana’s industrial transformation efforts.
