FrimpongOne more person has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus in Walewale bringing the number to two confirmed cases the North East Region.
The case according to health officials was recorded during the ongoing test of some 43 contacts including relatives and health workers identified to have come into contact with the 19-year-old COVID-19 patient who died last week.
The latest patient is said to have been a close friend of the deceased and was part of the people who conveyed the latter to the hospital where he passed on.
Health officials in the Municipality say, 35 out of the 43 contacts have so far been tested with one person confirmed positive for the virus.
The patient has been put in isolation at a facility in the Municipal capital, Walewale.
Ghana’s case count stands at 834 with 99 recoveries.
