Chelsea Striker, Tammy Abraham, was born in the UK to Nigerian parents, while AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori, was born in Calgary, Canada, to Nigerian parents. But both turned down the chances of representing the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
In 2019, Both players switched their allegiance after they received their England call-ups and went on to plays at the Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
On Thursday afternoon March 18, England coach, Gareth Southgate named a 26-strong squad for World Cup qualifiers, and both Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori were missing.
However, Tammy is currently sidelined due to a recurrence of an ankle injury that he originally suffered in January’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal.
Tomori’s exclusion in the squad is no surprise, as he struggled for minutes since going on a loan to AC Milan from Chelsea.
