The man identified as Edmond Nii Ansah, also known as Abi Nii, was found guilty of four counts of defrauding by false pretenses.
On each count, he was found guilty and sentenced to five years in prison.
Helen Samlafo, the prosecutor, told Justice Mercy Adei Kotei’s court that the allegations are mostly from university graduates and some government employees.
She said the convict duped his victims by offering them government employment.
Abi Nii reportedly received money from graduates under the pretext of encouraging their recruitment into the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces, and other state agencies, according to the State Attorney.
In the New Juaben South constituency, he is said to be a polling station executive member of the New Patriotic Party.
He was charged with 11 charges at first, but he was convicted and discharged on seven of them after the prosecution failed to get the complainants to testify.
The term will run concurrently, according to the Judge’s decision.
