Ghanaian rapper Showboy has publicly expressed his displeasure over a recent comment made by a TV presenter affiliated with Adom TV. Through a video posted on his Instagram page, Showboy addressed the presenter’s remarks, which he found disrespectful and unprofessional.
In the video, the presenter was heard ridiculing Showboy’s personality, claiming she only knows him by his popular nickname, “Adanko.” She further described him as an entertainer who often shares his opinions freely on social media.
Additionally, she criticized the organizer of the University of Ghana’s annual Pent Hall Week, alleging that Showboy was not booked to perform at the event; instead, a Nigerian artist was booked for the occasion.
Reacting to these comments, Showboy condemned the presenter’s remarks, emphasizing the broader issue of discrimination within the Ghanaian entertainment industry. He highlighted that many talented musicians are often sidelined and denied opportunities to showcase their skills due to bias and favoritism among industry stakeholders.
Showboy also pointed out the challenges faced by local artists, noting that despite his efforts and dedication to his craft, he has frequently been overlooked in favor of other performers. He called for a more equitable approach in selecting artists for events and urged industry players to provide more platforms for emerging and established Ghanaian musicians.
