President John Dramani Mahama has unveiled two transformative educational projects aimed at empowering youth in the Savannah Region with modern skills and practical training.
During his “Thank You” tour in Damongo, he announced the establishment of a STEM Senior High School in Tinga, located in the Bole District, and a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centre of Excellence in Salaga.
Mr Mahama stated that the STEM school would focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to prepare students for careers in a fast-evolving, knowledge-driven economy. He disclosed that he had already instructed the Minister of Education to initiate the necessary processes to set up the institution in Tinga.
“I have directed the Minister of Education to establish a STEM Senior High School in Tinga, Bole District, as part of our broader education reform agenda,” he said.
The former President also announced that Salaga would host a state-of-the-art TVET Centre of Excellence. This facility will offer practical training in fields such as ICT, construction, green energy, and agri-business, providing job-ready skills for young people across the region.
