Black Satellites forward Jerry Afriyie has been honoured with the Odartey Lamptey Future Star Award at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards. The ceremony took place on Saturday, June 14, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.

Afriyie, who is currently on loan at Spanish club CD Lugo, outperformed tough competition from Christiana Ashiaku of Rootz Sistaz and Edmund Baidoo of Red Bull Salzburg to claim the prestigious youth accolade.

The talented attacker made headlines during the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Togo, where he emerged as a key figure under coach Desmond Ofei.

He continued to shine at the main tournament in Egypt, notably providing the crucial assist in Ghana’s victory over Senegal.

At the club level, Afriyie also proved vital for CD Lugo, playing a significant role in helping the team avoid relegation during the 2024/25 Spanish football season. His impressive performances at both national and club levels solidified his place as one of Ghana’s brightest young football prospects.
