Fast-rising music act Arathejay has shared the reason behind his masked persona and why he’s gradually revealing parts of his face to fans.
In an interview with Doreen Avio on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz segment, the artist explained that from the beginning of his career, he was intentional about keeping his identity hidden.
He believed music should be appreciated for its message and emotional impact, not the artist’s image. For him, the voice and words were more important than the face behind them.
However, as his brand grew, his management encouraged him to connect more with fans visually. This led to a small but deliberate change: showing just a portion of his face. According to Arathejay, the decision was a balancing act between staying true to his values and adapting to the demands of the industry.
He hinted that a full unmasking might happen soon, revealing that he’s warming up to the idea of letting fans see the full face behind the music.
