AdubianewsGhanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy has spoken out strongly against the increasing levels of toxicity and misinformation circulating on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
In a self-recorded video shared with his followers, the award-winning artist did not mince words, stating that some users on the platform are “just being foolish for fun” and are quick to showcase toxic behaviors inherited from their lineage.
Stonebwoy expressed disappointment in how the media often fuels these online antics by giving attention to such negativity instead of focusing on meaningful discourse.
According to him, the platform has become a space where false narratives thrive and people enjoy spreading misinformation at the expense of others’ reputations. He warned that this growing trend threatens to erode values and tarnish the hard-earned image of public figures.
During a live interactive session, a fan asked how he intends to deal with the increasing wave of misinformation and personal attacks that could affect his brand and career.
In response, Stonebwoy explained that “the least said, the better,” adding that he prefers not to engage in online battles. Instead, he focuses on productive ventures and personal growth, rather than getting caught in endless digital disputes.
The musician revealed that while he has the right to take legal action against false claims and defamatory statements, he consciously chooses not to. Stonebwoy maintained that giving attention to such negativity only empowers the perpetrators and distracts him from his music and mission.
His comments have since sparked conversations on social media, with many fans applauding his maturity and restraint. Others have called on influencers and media platforms to be more responsible in what they promote, emphasizing the need to create a healthier and more respectful online environment.
