AdubianewsThe streets of Kumasi pulsed with cultural pride and political passion as the second edition of the Momentum Walk swept through the Ashanti Region over the weekend. Organized by the 18Plus4NDC movement, this quarter’s theme, “Politico-Traditional Walk”, created an inspiring blend of heritage, youth empowerment, and civic engagement.
Participants adorned in vibrant traditional outfits and NDC-branded regalia walked from the iconic Aboabo Post Office to the NDC Regional Office, sparking meaningful conversations along the route on leadership, national policy, and community development.
A central focus of this edition was a powerful anti-drug abuse campaign aimed at tackling the growing menace of illicit substance use among Ghanaian youth.
“The future of Ghana depends on the strength of our youth, and we cannot afford to lose them to drugs,” declared Bridget Bonnie, Founder of 18Plus4NDC, passionately urging action to protect the next generation.
Beyond activism, the walk also spotlighted the progress being made by the current administration. “We used this opportunity to share updates on what the government is currently doing, and what plans are underway for the benefit of the Ghanaian people,” said Dr Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister.
The event re-emphasized the NDC’s enduring presence at the grassroots, even while in office. Through initiatives like these, the party remains closely connected with the people, mobilizing support and maintaining momentum across all regions.
Organizers extended heartfelt thanks to Dr Amoakohene for his warm hospitality and to the Ashanti Regional NDC leadership for their unwavering support and partnership in making the event a resounding success.
