A market woman in Ahafo Goaso has voiced her frustration over the economic challenges under the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, stating that things were far better during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) era.

In a candid expression of dissatisfaction, she said life has become increasingly difficult, with families struggling to afford decent meals. “We’re just eating banku every day. Nothing has been reduced under the NDC,” she lamented.

The trader also compared the current situation with what she described as better times under the NPP, citing free education and a thriving business environment. “We didn’t pay school fees under the NPP, and our businesses were booming even without taking loans,” she stated.

She accused the current government of failing to address the growing hardships faced by ordinary citizens. “Ghana is going through serious hardships. The current government is not helping,” she said, echoing sentiments increasingly shared by many in the informal sector.

Her comments come amid growing concerns about rising costs of living, food inflation, and small business survival under the current economic conditions.
