Desert ManSongstress Cina Soul has reported to the Police how she feels threatened by some remarks made by Kumawood actor Big Akwes.
Real nameChristie Quincyna Quarcoopome, she expressed fears over some comments by the actor and called on the Ghana Police Service and the communication minister to take action against the actor.
In a video shared on her X handle on July 1, Big Akwes was seen during an interview on Bryt TV playing a Kiss-Marry-Kill game.
When he was asked to choose who he would marry and kill between colleague actress Vivian Jill and Cina Soul, he stated that he would marry Vivian Jill.
Akwes went on to describe how would “kill Cina Soul,” explaining that he would use a magic mirror to spiritually call her, repeatedly stab her with a knife, and then drink her blood.
Concerned and “deeply unsettled” about the comment, Cina Soul took to social media, tagging the Ghana Police Service and the Ministry of Communications and urged swift action, stating that she now feels genuinely threatened.
“I’m deeply unsettled by this. I initially chose not to respond to earlier comments because I do not wish to be associated with this individual, but at this point, I feel genuinely threatened.
“I may not know the proper channels to report this, but it’s critical we take a firm stance against this kind of dangerous rhetoric being broadcast on our TV and radio platforms. We must not normalize hate,” she posted.
Following her post on X, both Big Akwes and Bryt TV have been widely condemned for airing the clip while Ghanaians show support to the artiste.
.@Gh Police Service i’m deeply unsettled by this. i initially chose not to respond to earlier comments because i do not wish to be associated with this individual but at this point i feel genuinely threatened.
