Mohammed Kudus is already focused on team success following his high-profile transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Ghanaian forward has signed a six-year contract with the North London club, moving from West Ham United in a £55 million deal.
Having played a key role in West Ham’s journey to the Europa League quarterfinals two seasons ago, the 24-year-old is eager to bring that same level of performance to Spurs as they prepare for a demanding campaign in both the Premier League and Champions League.
“I’m very team-oriented, so my personal goals are around helping the team get as many points as we can, to be as high as we can in the Premier League, and perform really well and go as far as we can in the Champions League,” Kudus told the club’s website after completing his move.
He also expressed his excitement at the opportunity to compete on Europe’s biggest stage once again, having previously featured in the Champions League during his time with Dutch giants Ajax.
“I know how big this club is and its history. Playing in the Champions League has always been a dream of mine, so this is a special moment,” Kudus said.
“The Champions League is one of the highest levels in football. I’ve had a taste of it with Ajax, and I understand the demands—it takes top quality and full concentration throughout every match. I’m looking forward to bringing my individual strengths to help the team succeed.”
Kudus made nine appearances in the Champions League across three seasons with Ajax from 2020 to 2022. His most notable campaign came in 2022, when he scored four goals in six group-stage matches.
With Spurs set to return to the Champions League in the 2025/26 season, the versatile attacker is eager to help drive the team forward on their European journey.
Kudus’s first competitive outing in a Tottenham shirt will come in the UEFA Super Cup clash against European champions Paris Saint-Germain.
