AdubianewsGhanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has expressed excitement and confidence ahead of the new season after making a triumphant return from a long-term knee injury.
The 21-year-old marked his comeback with a brilliant solo goal in Leicester City’s pre-season victory over Italian Serie A side Fiorentina on Sunday, August 3. It was Issahaku’s first goal since recovering from injury and just his third appearance since returning to action.
Speaking after the match, the Ghana international shared his relief and pride in his recovery: “Right now I’m feeling good. I’ve got more minutes and I still feel good and no pain in my knee.”
Reflecting on the emotional moment, he added: “The goal was something I was waiting for because I’ve been out for so long. I’m so happy that I came back to King Power with a goal. My comeback is personal because I’ve been through a lot.”
Issahaku missed a major part of Leicester’s 2024/25 campaign, appearing in only 11 games before the club suffered relegation from the Premier League. With his full fitness now restored, the young forward will be hoping to play a pivotal role in helping the Foxes secure promotion in the upcoming season.
