Crates of Guinness spilled on the road near Nkawkaw after truck accident

A delivery truck transporting crates of Guinness beverages lost part of its cargo early Thursday morning on the Accra-Kumasi highway near Nkawkaw, causing chaos and drawing a crowd of opportunistic residents.

Eyewitnesses say the truck was headed northbound when multiple crates toppled off, sending glass bottles shattering across the roadway. The cause of the incident remains unclear, though some speculate it may have been due to poor securing of the load or sudden swerving to avoid an obstacle.

Within minutes of the incident, dozens of local residents rushed to the scene. While many stood by observing, several were spotted grabbing unbroken bottles and carrying away full crates of the popular beverage.

Despite the disruption, no injuries were reported. However, the incident caused a brief traffic jam as motorists slowed down to navigate through the debris-strewn section of the road.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement or confirm whether any arrests have been made. Cleanup crews were later seen clearing broken glass and damaged crates from the highway.
