AdubianewsThe Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed 18 new cases of Mpox, raising the nationwide total to 346 since the outbreak began. Despite the fresh infections, the death toll remains at one, with no patients currently receiving hospital treatment.
In its latest update, the GHS noted that the new cases emerged after its last briefing on August 7, 2025, where the public was reminded to stay vigilant and take preventive measures. Citizens are urged to avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms and to report suspected cases promptly to the nearest health facility.
The Service assured that it is working closely with regional health directorates to trace contacts and enhance the country’s coordinated response efforts. This includes targeted community awareness campaigns and swift intervention measures to curb further spread.
Mpox, a viral disease transmitted through close physical contact, continues to pose a public health concern, with health authorities stressing the need for personal responsibility alongside national containment strategies.
