Nigerian actor Nosa Rex has strongly criticised some Ghanaian television stations for allegedly airing his latest movie without his consent.
In a self-recorded video, the Nollywood star expressed frustration over the disregard for intellectual property rights, stressing that movie producers invest significant time and money into their productions.
He warned that when movies are made freely available on TV, audiences are less likely to stream them on legitimate platforms, which directly affects the earnings of producers and actors.
Rex further lashed out at sections of the Ghanaian entertainment industry, describing them as “fools” for allowing such practices. He claimed this was a major reason the industry continues to struggle. “If you keep condoning this, your entertainment industry will keep retrogressing,” he remarked.
The actor’s comments have sparked debates online about copyright protection and the need for stronger enforcement of intellectual property laws within the African entertainment sector.
