Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, announcing the start date for the 2025 school placement exercise at a media briefing.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has confirmed that the 2025 school placement exercise will officially begin on Wednesday, September 17, following the release of the provisional Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results.

Addressing the media on Wednesday, August 27, the Director-General of GES, Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, said successful candidates will be required to report to their respective senior high schools between October 18 and October 20.

According to him, this year’s process has been enhanced to minimise errors and improve transparency. A review window has been introduced on the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal, www.csses.gov.gh, where candidates can verify their details, including gender, school code, and programme code. The review period opens on September 1 and ends on September 8.

Professor Davis explained that an explainer video will also be provided on the portal to guide parents through the process. He urged parents and candidates to take advantage of the review to ensure accurate entries before placement begins.

He further cautioned against paying money to middlemen to secure preferred schools, stressing that placements are strictly based on merit and the established selection system. “Nobody should pay anyone for placement. The actual placement exercise will commence on September 17, and students are expected to report to campus between October 18 and 20,” he stated.
