AdubianewsThe Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has suspended the licence of Evanex Gold Enterprise, a licensed Tier 2 gold buyer, effective immediately.
The regulator explained that the decision follows adverse investigative findings that revealed the company was involved in illegal gold pricing, breaching the terms of its licence.
In a press release issued on Thursday, August 28, GoldBod cautioned all licensed traders, miners, and the general public to avoid engaging in any gold transactions with Evanex Gold Enterprise.
The regulator noted that the suspension was part of broader efforts to sanitise Ghana’s gold trading sector and maintain industry standards.
“Notice is hereby given to all licensed traders, miners, and the general public to desist from trading and/or engaging in any form of gold transaction with Evanex Gold Enterprise forthwith,” the statement said.
GoldBod further stressed that the infractions uncovered were significant enough to merit swift sanctions, adding that similar actions would be taken against other operators found guilty of such practices.
The regulator reaffirmed its commitment to promoting accountability and transparency in Ghana’s gold industry. It assured stakeholders that strict enforcement of laws and regulations would continue to ensure a fair, credible, and well-regulated gold trading environment across the country.
