Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu has dismissed claims made by former Works and Housing Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah that government payments to contractors under the Big Push infrastructure project are “audio money.”
Speaking on Metro TV on Friday, October 31, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu clarified that the Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is disbursing real funds to contractors to ensure the successful completion of various infrastructure projects across the country.
“The suggestion that what the Finance Minister is releasing is ‘audio money’ is simply false,” he stated, stressing that the funds being distributed are tangible and tied directly to ongoing works under the initiative.
According to him, the Big Push project forms a vital part of the government’s agenda to transform Ghana’s infrastructure landscape through transparency, accountability, and timely financing.
He noted that the initiative is already delivering measurable progress in areas such as roads, schools, hospitals, and digital infrastructure.
“This administration is focused on visible, measurable results. Every cedi released under The Big Push is backed by verifiable work on the ground,” he emphasized.
Mr. Kwakye Ofosu also urged Ghanaians to ignore what he described as politically motivated attempts to downplay the government’s achievements. “The facts speak for themselves — contractors are being paid, projects are advancing, and communities are benefiting. The Finance Minister is releasing real money, not ‘audio money’,” he added.
