Passengers on a VIP bus traveling along the Accra–Kumasi highway narrowly escaped death after the vehicle was completely gutted by fire following a loud explosion from the rear.
Eyewitnesses said smoke began billowing from the back of the bus just moments before it burst into flames, forcing passengers to flee for safety.
Fortunately, all occupants managed to escape unhurt before the fire engulfed the vehicle. Firefighters later arrived at the scene to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby areas.
Authorities are yet to determine the exact cause of the explosion, but preliminary accounts suggest a possible mechanical or electrical fault.
