A heated confrontation erupted between a passenger and an MTTD police officer after the officer allegedly arrested a Pragya rider for operating without a licence. The incident took place along a busy road, drawing the attention of several bystanders.
According to the passenger, the officer accused the rider of not having the required documents and insisted on taking him to the station for further action. The situation quickly escalated when the officer reportedly refused to allow the rider to continue his journey.
The passenger claimed the officer demanded GHS 200 before releasing the rider, describing the act as extortion. This accusation sparked a tense exchange, with the passenger insisting that the officer was abusing his authority.
The confrontation attracted a small crowd, many of whom questioned the officer’s handling of the situation. Calls have since been made for the matter to be investigated to determine whether any misconduct occurred.
