A young woman has narrated a deeply unsettling experience she had at the Tech Hospital in Kumasi after a doctor made alarming remarks while she sought urgent medical attention.

She explained that she had previously been diagnosed with Pulmonary Embolism (PE) following a surgical procedure and was already undergoing treatment. But when she began experiencing heightened symptoms, she visited the hospital to ensure there were no complications.

According to her, what happened next left her shaken. After she informed the attending doctor about her diagnosis, his reaction, rather than calming her, intensified her anxiety. She recounted that the doctor abruptly told her that Pulmonary Embolism “kills,” a statement she described as blunt and frightening.

She added that the doctor then instructed a nurse to escort her because she could “collapse at any moment,” a comment that further deepened her distress.

The woman said the encounter was emotionally devastating, noting that the manner in which the information was delivered worsened her fear at a time when she desperately needed reassurance and compassionate care.
