Grace Mountain Chapel auditorium after attempted fire outbreak

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a woman for allegedly attempting to set fire to the auditorium of Grace Mountain Chapel, led by Alpha Hour founder Pastor Elvis Agyemang.

The incident happened on Monday night, February 9, during a quiet period inside the church premises. According to reports, the suspect pretended to be praying before carrying out the act.

CCTV Captures Incident

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage shows the woman pouring a flammable substance on chairs near the altar and igniting them.

The church’s security personnel reacted quickly and contained the fire before it spread to other parts of the auditorium.

No injuries were recorded, and damage to the facility was described as minimal.

Prayer Sessions Temporarily Suspended

Following the incident, Pastor Elvis Agyemang announced the temporary suspension of physical prayer meetings at the auditorium.

“If you come here today, it will not be open, but it will not stop us. We will fix the place, and prayers will still go on,” he stated.

He confirmed the suspect is in police custody while investigations continue to determine the motive and whether others were involved.
