As the number of Ghana COVID-19cases increases from 834 to 1,042, the government has announced the extension of the closure of the country’s borders by another two weeks.

President Akufo-Addo, in his seventh address to the nation, announced an extension of the border closure.

“For the avoidance of doubt, earlier measures announced on March 15, which have been extended are still very much in force and demand even great adherence to these measures.

“I have, thus, signed an executive instrument to extend the closure of borders for two more weeks, beginning Monday, April 20,” he said in his address.

This is the second time the President announced the extension of Ghana’s land and sea borders as well as the country’s airspace as it seeks to insulate the country from another wave of imported cases of coronavirus.

President Akufo-Addo first announced the closure of the country’s borders on March 21 and extended it for another two weeks on April 4
