President Akufo-Addo has stated in his 8th address to the nation that his government will undertake the biggest boost to the health sector in the history of Ghana.
This he said was necessitated by the deadly coronavirus that has befell the world because it has exposed the Ghanaian health system.
According to the president, there are 88 districts that do not have district hospitals and six (6) regions without regional hospitals. These areas will see the major boost that his government will invest in the health sector.
The president acknowledged the challenge that this would have on the government because it was not part of the budget for the year.
The country was under lockdown for three weeks after which he lifted the lockdown barely a week ago.
