The Former Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Bernard Allotey Jacobs has fires back at his party (NDC) says his suspension from the party will not stop him from telling the truth.
The Functional Committee of the opposition NDC acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee of the party at its meeting on Wednesday 6th May, 2020 suspended Mr. Allotey Jacobs for what it describes as persistent anti-party conduct.
But responding to the suspension, Mr. Allotey Jacobs in an interview with Joynews on Wednesday evening said he will always stand for the truth despite the party describing his posture and utterances as anti-party conduct.
” I have my own independent mind and I believe that I will always stand for the truth, and if the party dislikes it and for that reason, they are suspending me beautiful. Therefore means, you are suspending me, my votes, and my family.
Mr. Jacobs said he has received the decision wholeheartedly and has no intention of challenging the party’s decision, however, he will continue to offer honest opinions on various radio and TV stations provided he is given the platform to comment on issues.

“I am now a social commentator so if I’m invited by the production team, I will be at the station. “
He however mentioned that he will support the party if the party take a decision which is in its best interest.
“How could I be in bed with the NPP, facts are facts, when something is good about the NPP I will say it, when it is wrong, I will talk against it. There is the need for us to change the kind of narrative or we have to change our political discourse, you see, we need to grow our politics in this country”.
Mr. Allotey Jacobs said he won’t cut any ties with the party, but added he is no more active in frontline party organizations.
