On Wednesday, May 6, 2020, Naa Ashorkor confirmed that her contract with Multimedia, owners of Joy FM, has been terminated.
The award-winning presenter’s departure from the Accra-based media outfit has taken over the internet.
In Naa Ashorkor’s post on her Instagram handle, she failed to disclose why her contract was terminated.
In a report Sighted by YEN.com.gh on enewsgh, Naa Ashorkor was sacked because she refused to perform other duties expected of her.
Despite being hired to work on Joy Fm, media networks in Ghana generally have their staff appearing across channels they own – so one person could work on both radio and TV.
According to the report, Naa Ashorkor, during her tenure at Joy Fm refused to appear on other Multimedia channels.
The station then felt they had no option but to terminate her contract, although she was paid one month’s salary in lieu of her being given advance notice of her sacking.
