The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has disclosed the only condition under which restrictions on public gathering in the country will be relaxed.
Some political leaders in the country including the President’s Political party (NPP) have called on the government to ease the various restrictions to enable them to start their electioneering campaigns and other political activities.
But according to the President, he will only ease the various restrictions put in place to help fight the deadly Coronavirus only of the number of infections recorded and deaths continue to be low.
He made this known when he met with the delegation from the Anglo traditional Council on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at the JublieeHous
The President said he was confident that Ghana will surmount the deadly disease which has come to change the fabric of society.

The President said he was confident that Ghana will surmount the deadly disease which has come to change the fabric of society.
”I am very confident that we will overcome it. Fortunately for us, the number of people who have died in Ghana is very very small. Each death is unfortunate but never the less, the numbers in Ghana are small and the numbers of people who have been hospitalized as a result of the COVID-19 and are in severe conditions are also small at the moment”. He revealed
Expressing his optimism of winning the battle against the deadly COVID-19, the President said ”We pray to God that it continues that way. Because if it continues that way, then it gives us the opportunity to look at how we can ease the many restrictions that are making life for all of us difficult. So that we can go back to more or less normal. It may be a different normal. We may have to be wearing the mask for some time but at least we can be free of some of the other restrictions”.
Ghana’s case count currently stands at 6,269 with 31 deaths recorded so far in thirteen of the sixteen regions in the country.
1,898 patients have since recovered from the deadly disease.
