Ace high life musician, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, known in showbiz as Daddy Lumba has expressed gratitude to God for his ability to still churn out what many have described as excellent lyrical content.
DL as fondly called in recent times, has had a music career spanning three decades.
The award-winning highlife musician started at the age of 16 as the leader of Juaben Senior High School choir from 1983 to 1984 academic year where he first formed the Lumba Brothers group with his friends Yaw and Kwabena and girlfriend, Theresa Abebrese for whom he has composed a song.
Lumba later formed a new group with the same Lumba Brothers name with Ernest Nana Acheampong in Germany and the duo released the album titled ‘Yɛɛyɛ Aka Akwantuo Mu’.
DL did not rest after the group’s breakup but rather strived releasing one hit album after another.
The ‘Aben Wɔha’ hitmaker in an interview with JoyFm on their Spotlight series said he was “grateful to God that I’m still capable of doing what I’m doing”.
Expressing his love for the highlife genre, Lumba thanked Nana Acheampong for introducing him to it, having diverted from gospel.
The popular musician has helped with the careers of several musicians, like love song master, Ofori Amponsah, whom he introduced through his blockbuster hit album Woho Kyere in 1999.
Daddy Lumba, in all, has released 33 albums, including critically acclaimed ones like Aben Wɔha, Awosuɔ, Obi Ate Me So Buɔ, Sika Asɛm and Ebi Se Ɛyɛ Aduro.
