The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Lawyer Prosper Harrison Addo has disclosed that he left a lucrative job with Telecommunication giant, MTN to be with the GFA due to his passion for the game.
Following his appointment as the General Secretary of the GFA, lots of speculations pointed to the fact that he was hand picked by the GFA and never deserved the position.
Reacting to this, Prosper Harrison Addo said that he also applied and went through all the necessary procedures as others and was never hand picked as it is believed.
“I applied for the General Secretary position of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and I was shortlisted among others. So it is funny to hear I was hand picked for the position,” he said.
According to the astute lawyer who also doubles as a journalist, he applied for the position as a result of his passion and love for football and not as a result of huge financial benefits because his salary at MTN was more than what the GFA gives him.
“Passion for football played a major role in my application for General Secretary position.
“My salary at MTN was way bigger than what I am getting now at GFA and it is not true my take home pay is GHC18,000,” he said on Angel FM‘s Floodlight Sports hosted by Saddick Adams.
