Some delegates of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the Atwima Nwabiagya North constituency have raised red flag as their Member of Parliament, Hon Benito Owusu Bio has said he can easily identify delegates who would collect money but vote against him in the upcoming parliamentary primaries.
The MP, in a meeting with the delegates said with the support from the electoral area Cordinators, any delegate who would vote against him can easily be identified using serial number on the ballot paper and has therefore caution them not to make mistakes during voting.
In order to exercise democratic rights through voting, opportunities to vote must be accessible to those with the right to vote but the situation is different in this constituency as the MP decides who gets to vote and who to vote for.
Hon Benito Owusu Bio during his tour of the constituency promised to offer the delegates money but they will record their names and signature in an album and swear with a deity that they’ll vote for him in the forthcoming primaries.
According to a 3 minutes 7 seconds audio available to this Network, one of the delegates was heard encouraging his colleagues not to fear any deity as it cannot kill anyone because monies offered by Hon Owusu Bio is also taxpayers money.
He said in the audio that the incumbent MP has failed to do the needful for the constituency and that his new trend to win the primaries this time will not work for him.
The leadership of the party must act quickly in this constituency to avoid possible dangers that might occur.
