The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress,Johnson Asiedu Nketia has stated that Vice President Mahammudu Bawumia is not a standard for newly appointed John Mahama running mate, Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang.
Speaking on Okay FM’s Adeakyebia said Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has an impeccable record even in her days as vice-chancellor of a prestigious university, and he finds it very laughable when people want to compare Bawumia to her.”
“I find it very laughable when people want to compare Veep Bawumia to Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang. The fact is Veep Bawumia is not a standard for Jane . . . the National Democratic Congress as a party believes the appointment of Prof. Jane is in the right order and will ensure our victory come 2020, “Asiedu Nketiah stated.
On her appointment he noted, “so there was a unanimous decision in accepting her when her name was proposed by flagbearer John Dramani Mahama at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Monday.”
Asiedu Nketiah had revealed that he wouldn’t have turned down an opportunity to partner Mr Mahama should he have appointed him as running mate.
